The man behind, ‘In The Author’s Corner With Etienne Gibbs.’
So today, folks, we have a special guest, Etienne Gibbs, with Blog Talk Radio. He’ll be talking with us about his talk show, In the Author’s Corner with Etienne. The reason why this interview is here, on TJ Talks Writing, is because his show focuses on writers and writing related efforts.
So, give it up for, Etienne, everyone! Take it away, Mr. Gibbs.
How did you conceive of your talk show, In the Author’s Corner with Etienne, on Blog Talk Radio?
After my book, It’s My Turn to Be the Hero, was published in April, 2012, I came to realize that I did not quite know enough about marketing my book successfully. I had more questions than answers. Subsequently, I felt that if I did, perhaps other authors did, too. So, I created the show exclusively for novice and aspiring authors.
That’s an admirable motive for…

Take a moment to visit with Michael Robertson, Author of “The Alpha Plague” series.
MICHAEL ROBERTSON is a writer of dark post apocalyptic fiction, horror, and science fiction. He’s been writing for over fifteen years and has been published in several anthologies and magazines, as well as being published by HarperCollins.
His most poplar series is his Crash series. It’s a dark look at the apocalypse, brought about by financial collapse rather than a zombie plague. Although his next book The Alpha Plague, is a much more traditional post apocalyptic story inspired by 28 Days Later.
He has plans for several science fiction books and is currently writing the first draft of New Reality 3: Fear, which will finish off his New Reality series.
As a father of two young children, he writes when he can, which is mostly before they get up and after they’ve gone to bed.
He loves reading, writing, watching movies, and spending time with his family.

An Elevator Ride Doesn’t Last Very Long
Every author has been in the position where someone asks them to describe his/her book. It happened to me several times at a book-signing last Saturday (although, if you read my previous blog post, it didn’t happen as often as I hoped it would).*
What’s your book about?
The answer you give to that question is called an “elevator pitch.”
The term itself comes from the scenario of an accidental meeting with someone important. It’s any quick, catchy pitch you can deliver in the short time it takes for an elevator to reach its destination.
I’m sure you’ve heard the term before. I didn’t invent it. It’s been around the business world for decades. Now, however, as an indie author you need to think about it in terms of your new book.
By preparing an elevator pitch in advance for your book…

inThis crime/legal thriller is about Charley a homeless man, in Calgary Canada, being accused of murdering a woman, for what largely appears to be being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Legal aid lawyer, Brian Cox is to defend him, but Brain has his work cut out, as not only is this his first murder trial but Charley is painfully shy and mostly mute, to formulate any sort of defence Brain has to understand Charley, which takes him on a journey of discovery that will shock him.
I really enjoyed this thriller and I was fascinated by Charley’s past, which was just as gripping as the legal suspense aspect of this book. With courtroom drama to keep fans of legal thrillers satisfied and twists and turns of a really good crime thriller, this is a definite must read for thriller fans.

in≈ Comments Off on Book Review: Three Daughters by Consuelo Saah Baehr
This historical family saga tells of the life and loves of three generations of Palestinian Christian women from the same clan. Miriam is the apple of her father’s eye but this does not make her exempt from upholding family tradition. Miriam’s daughter Nadia although given more freedom than her mother is reigned in by the family when she dares to set outside it’s boundaries and Nadia’s daughter Nijmeh is an indulged only child, who is groomed to be the heir to her father’s tremendous estate from an early age. Each generation seems to have that little bit more freedom than the previous but all three are tethered to the central duty expected from them from culture and family.
Three daughters is a tremendous read, it is a long novel, which sets the scene of the political climate of each generation and richly tells the story of a family through the…

Click below for a great review with Danielle L. Zwissler
https://tjtalkswriting.wordpress.com/2015/06/21/author-interview-series-two-daneielle-l-zwissler/
Danielle Lee Zwissler is an Ohio author. She is a big fan of romance as well as fantasy. She likes her characters to have larger than life personalities, a fair amount of money, and if possible, red hair!
The first book that she had published was “Her Last Chance” and immediately after was the second book of the Daniels Dynasty,”The Art of Seduction”. Soon after, Books-to-go-Now! put out an erotic title of hers “The Trio of Sin”.
Now, Danielle is currently working with four different publishers as well as a group of writers called “The Iron Writer Challenge” a challenge in which 5 writers compete against one another with stories that they’ve written of only 500 words! Thus far, Danielle has won 8 out of the 11 challenges that she has taken.
Currently her list of novels includes several erotica, written under the pen name Heather Lane, western romance…

in≈ Comments Off on Demoni Vankil (Hobin Luckyfeller’s Fieldguide, Book 1)
Title & Author: Demoni Vankil (Hobin Luckyfeller’s Fieldguide, Book 1), Jaime Buckley
Genre & Publication Date: Fantasy Novella, September 21, 2011
Book Description: “During the darkest time of a generation, the Kings of the world gather to do the impossible: bind the Devil himself. The price of success will be far greater than any could imagine.
An ancient puzzle box.
Fourteen letters.
A Council of Whispers.
…and a clerk.
Discover the 700 year old secret millions died to protect.”
My Take: This book was provided to me by the author for review.
There’s a lot to love here and certainly this novella draws the reader into a fantastical world with many races and a rich history, of which a singular epoch is the focal point of the tale. The quality of writing is good, but I ran into a few bumps.
We enter at an important…
